Every painting that ended well has been hard to part with. Fascinated with depth, shadow and movement, I found that the oil medium gave me a feeling of working with subconscious emotion, that the subject itself became a vehicle for color and form. My inspiration for Oil Paintings has no limits or time frame. From watching the sunset at the beach to a frog on his bathroom window, I am constantly striving to see the saturated colors of Nature. I am intrigued by forms and the values held within shadows. I am intrigued by the character I find in plants, something most would find unusual in such a traditionally passive subject. I take the time to hear and see the signals of nature.
